How do you start a blog?
......errrrrrr..............

Well anyway, I'm a guitar pornographer. I live, eat, sleep, breath guitars.

I've owned dozens, if not hundreds over the years. I admit I am fickle, much as I love guitars, I tend to sell as many as I buy.

Some may think I'm looking for the perfect guitar, the perfect tone............no..............it's mainly looks.

Yes I am that fickle.

Having said that, I own a variax 500. 25 guitars at the turn of a knob, so maybe it is about tone, but not many guitars can give you that much range, where I can change from a Les Paul to a Dobro to a twelve string acoustic in one song. Not that I've ever had to, but you know what I mean.

So, my collection............
Currently I have the aforementioned Variax 500, this is the guitar I use for stage work ( yes I play in a band ). I use it purely for it's versatility, at a normal gig I'd usually take two guitars, sometimes three, but with the Variax I only need the one, luckilly i've not had a string break on me mid performance :-)

I also have a Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet. OK, not the most expensive Gretsch ever produced, but I'm not a ricj man, maybe if I didn't buy so many guitars I would be, but that's by the by.
I love my Gretsch to death, tho it's not a 6120 or a White Falcon, it has the look and the sound...........and a Bigsby :-)

My acoustic guitar is a Crafter electro acoustic, again not the most expensive guitar in the world, but it was a present from my daughters for my 40th, it is a cracking guitar and I love playing it.

For slide playing I use  a mystery guitar. It's a semi acoustic, twin humbucker guitar, shaped like a PRS but has a Gibson logo on the headstock. A decent guitar, has a few battle scars and a hefty neck, but plays and sounds great.

I like playing bass occasionally, mainly when I'm doing home recordings, I cam across a bass at a car boot years ago, it's a Kay Jazz Bass copy from the late 70's/ early 80's, has been refinished many times and looks a bloody mess, but again it plays and sounds great. Best 30 quid I've ever spent ( that included a 50 watt amp that's since long gone )

I also have a 12 string semi acoustic. It's a copy of a Rickenbacker, and is fantastic quality, has the proper jingly jangly sound. I admit I bought it purely for looks, but was well worth the investment.

So thats what I've got at the minute, might change if the mood takes me, i constantly go through ebay drooling over guitars, and if I see something I like I go for it. I'm trying to buy a guitar for 20 quid or less, just a wee challenge I've set myself, and I'm in the process of building a custom guitar for myself, details will be posted soon.............maybe..............
